Dear Friends:
We met with a number of enthusiasts at the Anacostia Jazz festival last Saturday, April 28th. They were from Anacostia Riverkeeper, Accokeek Foundation, National Conservancy, a number of NPS folks, and others. Tanja Crk, Edmund Wong, and Dilli Neupane were there. Rajita had to take care of her ailing sister in NJ, and Bill Roper couldn’t come due to some unexpected turn of events involving post-surgery (heart) complications of his wife. Hope she feels better.
Despite all of these unanticipated hurdles, including the loss of my mother-in-law a few days ago, we kept our commitments and set up proper display of the booth and explained the importance of keeping the Rivers and streams clean to many people. Anyway, the gathering, displays, and the jazz was really great.
